BBVA Bancomer is the largest bank in Mexico with origins from 1932 and a significant percentage of the retail banking market.  The current name came about in 2000, when BBVA became Bancomer’s largest stockholder. Previous to this, the bank’s name was Banco de Comercio, which was shortened to Bancomer. Bancomer is headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico, and offers customers access to more than 6,800 ATMs, as well as 1,800 bank branches throughout Mexico. Bancomer offers personal banking, business and corporate services and also provides financial solutions for government agencies. Some of its products offerings includes current accounts, access to investment funds, promissory notes as well as CEDES Bancomer (Certificate of Deposit) including Fixed Rate CEDES and Variable Rate CEDES.
